Angela Simmons is the star of two hit MTV shows: “Run’s House,” which gave America an insider’s look at the lives of the first family of hip-hop, and “Daddy’s Girls,” which chronicles Angela and her older sister’s jet-setting bi-coastal lives as they navigate Hollywood and step out as role models for their millions of young fans.
The daughter of legendary rap artist and pioneer Reverend Run of Run-DMC, and the break-out star of the first family of hip-hop, Angela has quickly established herself as a fashion powerhouse and entrepreneur in her own right. ANGELA I AM is a lifestyle brand that provides a platform for new and emerging talent in the fashion industries.
Along with running a successful business, Angela, strives to inspire young adults to start their own business, too. “Maybe guys and girls will look at how we run our business and it will make them strive high,” says Angela. “It’s important to promote entrepreneurship and all the things that young adults can do because dreams can come true. It’s important to be business-minded from a young age.”
With international appeal, Angela has graced the pages of PEOPLE, ESSENCE, TEEN VOGUE, SEVENTEEN, VIBE, OK! Weekly, Star Magazine, US Weekly, InTouch Weekly, Life & Style. She has appeared on “The Wendy Williams Show,” “Entertainment Tonight,” “Access Hollywood,” “Extra,” “Good Day NY,” Fox Business,” among others. She turns heads on A-list red carpets such as The EMMY Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, NAACP Awards and New York Fashion Week.
In addition, Angela is committed to empowering and uplifting young people and has become an ambassador for the Children’s Miracle Network – visiting children in hospitals and providing them with hope and inspiration. In July, Angela hosted “Girl Talk Takeover” at the Boys and Girls Club, where two-hundred young women were given a day of love, attention and pampering along with a little bit of guidance to a healthy and meaningful life.
